UX + Visual Design

Defeat B.O.C.O. - your product depends on it

To illustrate the value of holistic UX design thinking and showcase Fresh Consulting as a thought leader in the space, we created an immersive website that takes users on an interactive journey to defeat B.O.C.O. the Beast of Conflicting Opinions. Each unique world focuses on overcoming the obstacles faced during the four stage design process — Research, Design, Test, and Deliver.

The beast takes many forms

Like any good fantasy story, we needed a main villain who was the visual representation of creative gridlock. The concepts for B.O.C.O. went through many iterative rounds, ending on a lovable but persistent Beast who wears many skins but is consistently attempting to derail the product team’s success.

The back story

Unique ideas can come to anyone. In an organization that fosters innovation, the best ideas rise to the top, regardless of the source. It's important to give equal weight to both the louder and quieter voices on the product team to ensure the most creative solutions are explored. The UX design process itself is a way to resolve disagreements. It allows for “productive friction,” leading to the creation of value, rather than putting the brakes on innovation and sticking to what has been done before.

Unique worlds to explore

The client is guided on his travels through the UX process by various team members, each providing their unique set of skills that propel the project forward with new innovation. We wanted each world to be visually distinct, but also fit together cohesively in a larger design style. A combination of traditional environments with fantastical beasts and inspiration from pulp fiction serials came together to create a unique art direction.

On the journey to
product delivery

After testing your product, the team soars into the clouds to learn about strategies for onboarding and user engagement. User onboarding is the key to keeping your product afloat. Flying over an uncertain product landscape makes adaptation and evolution imperative for success.
